Raincoats campaign - Thank you!!

Tools for the forest camaign- Thank You!!

In June we had a campaign here on the blog and on facebook to raise money to buy tools for the new forest enclosure. And with your amazing support we raised 420$!!! A big thank you to:

Tools for the forest campaign!

Over the month of June we are running a “Tools for the Forest” campaign.  With our new forest enclosure full of chimpanzees the keepers will need some tools to take care of the enclosure and dormitory.  Money donated this month towards running costs will be used to purchase shovels, rakes, machetes, scrubbing brushes, a wheelbarrow and materials to build a tool rack. Donate in June to help us with this and you will receive a nice photo of Shege, one of the chimps that just moved into the new enclosure! Shege is a gentel and funny adult female, everyone that meets her fall in love! She is absolutely loving the forest :) Thank you for your support :)

Donations on the blog!

We want to thank everyone that has donated on the blog and facebook for the last three months!

In March we got 60$, a big thank you to Ryan K and Brenton H for supporting us!!!

In April we got 45$, a big thank you to Brenton H and Alison B for your support!!!

And May was a fantastic month for donations! Which matches the fantastic month it has been for the chimps:) We got 720$!! Thank you, AWARE Germany!

A big thank you to AWARE Germany and their donors for raising 2000 euros for the CRPL! A special thanks to the Hamburg- based company "Markensturm.com", and their business manager Timo Kusian, for their generous donation of 500 euro! The money will go towards running cost of the CRPL, food for chimps and monkey and salaries for Congolese employees.

AWARE Germany is one of the CRPLs longest standing supporters and we are very grateful for their dedication to helping the primates in Lwiro!

Painting of Kathe sold!

Cleve Hicks' has painted this wonderful painting of one of our resident chimpanzees, Kathe, that he rescued in northern DRC in 2008. She was one of the Aketi5.

The painting has now found a home, and the new owner, Judy S. in Leipzig, Germany, donated $305 dollars to Lwiro! Thank you so much Cleve and Judy for your support and fantastic effort! It's really appreciated!

Donations, thank you, update on the fence and urgent appeal

Time for a update on the fence and urgent appeal again! We are very happy with all your donations on this blog and Facebook, they are really helping! The money from these donations have now been used to buy all the metallic fence posts needed to build the fence! These are ordered from Kenya and is one of the most expensive posts on the fence budget, they cost 34000$. But we didn't have quite enough to order them until we got the money from you guys, so thank you!! You've made it possible for us to continue the work with the fence! Pictures of the new fence posts will be posted as soon as they arrive in Lwiro!

We also have some larger grants that we are very hopeful to that we will receive, so watch this space!!

But thank you so much for you donations the last month! It really helps and soon we will see the chimps of Lwiro back climbing trees were they belong!!!
